Bench Press Workouts

What you are about to read might help you increase your strength when using the bench press

If you have been working out diligently and your bench press
weight has not gone up then here are a couple of points that
you might consider to help yourself.

Are you overtraining?

If you have been in a workout schedule that you have
consistently followed and you see no results in your bench
press then you may be the victim of overtraining.  In
reality, you shouldn't expect too much too soon.  Even a
little increase in weight is a measured success and
shouldn't be discounted.

But if you feel that you have reached a plateau and that you
aren't seeing measureable results then you just might be
going back to the gym too soon in order to increase your
strength.  You have to give each muscle group the time to
recover from the intense workout that you give it during
your workout.  Because each workout routine is unique as is
the body, I can only give an example.  If you are working
out 3 times a week then you should cut that down to 2 times
a week to give time for your muscles to re-juvenate
themselves.  You will see tremendous results if you give
your body the chance to rest between workout days.

How's your diet?

Also your diet should be looked at with a keen eye to see
what proteins you are consuming.  If you want more bench
press weight then you might also try increasing the number
of calories that you consume during the day, which might
give you the added strength to burst past the bench press
plateau that has hounded you in the past.
