Exercise equipment

If you have had your eye on that piece of exercise equipment
that you continually see on TV land and you feel that you
can't live without it, here are a couple of points that
should be taken into account.

Do you really need that piece of exercise equipment in your
home?  Are you on a physical fitness program right now that
warrants having another piece of exercise equipment in your
home?

The answers to the previous questions may hold the key on
whether or not you ought to shell out good money for a piece
of exercise equipment.

Of course if the exercise equipment is warranted, now you
must go to phase 2 and make sure that what you buy has a
warranty to it and the product is durable and safe to use.
Make sure that you evaluate the advertising claims by asking
for references if possible.

Credibility claims must be substantiated.

Testimonials look and sound good but not all people are the
same and you shouldn't expect the same type results although
that is a technique that the manufacturer would like you to
think.  Just be wary of outlandish claims on what the
exercise equipment can do for you.  Read the fine print of
the merchandise as well.  It may state that a corresponding
diet is needed in conjunction with a workout routine with
the exercise equipment that you're thinking about
purchasing.

Cost and warranty inspection.

If the manufacturer offers a payment plan, make sure that
you calculate the total costs.  The advertised cost may not
include shipping and handling and tax as well.  Depending on
where the merchandise is being shipped from, there may be
additional shipping fees, as well as set up fees.  The great
low price that is advertised may not be so low after you
find out all the hidden fees that may be applied.  Do your
due diligence in the cost and warranty aspect and it well
may pay off for you in the long run.
